A Cavan food producer has won big at this year's Blas na hÉireann awards.
Ballinagh-based dessert maker Vanilla Bean Patisserie picked up a gold award for its popular Vanilla Bean Patisserie Curd.
Speaking to Northern Sound about the recent win, company owner and founder Kristijan Kodric described his company's success as "surreal" and a "dream come true" having also secured a lucrative deal with Aldi.
The Cavan-based business man moved to Ireland nine years ago, where he saw a gap in the market for "high quality" desserts and dessert-related products.
While the initial outbreak of Covid coincided with the official opening of his new business venture, Kristijan Kodric said he was "determined" to make Vanilla Bean Patisserie a "success."
