Cavan County Library hope to roll out their new Contact and Collect service to libraries throughout the county in the coming weeks.
The library has returned with a limited service, whereby they are creating book packs for their borrowers which can be organised by phone and collected from the library.
While it is not possible to request specific books at this time, county librarian Emma Clancy, says that they are working to reinvent the way they operate to no-one is left wanting and they are continuing to work to adjust to the new normal.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Emma feels the support they have received has shown they are central to the community in Cavan and she says they hope to get their story-time sessions running as soon as possible.
Since the lockdown began they have been running online however, Emma says that for children it is hard to replace the in person aspect of the activity.
There are also provisions in place for anyone who may still be cocooning or those who are vulnerable to avail of a delivery service.
