An Bórd Pleanála rejected the appeal and granted permission for the development with a number of revised conditions.

Cllr Áine Smith said constituents in her Cavan-Belturbet Municipal District have approached her asking that their grief is recognised by the state.

Cllr Brady said the problems in Cavan and across the country are multi-layered.

The event takes place from 6.00 - 8.00pm in the Johnston Central Library in Cavan.

Submissions can be made during this period, after which a decision will be made by council members on whether it should proceed.

Projects will promote the circular economy and encourage the reduction of single use plastics and harvesting of rainwater for use in community settings.

The event will take place later today at 6.30pm.

Locals are encouraged to attend the workshop which will take place on Thursday the 5th of September at 6.30pm.
