Cavan County Council is one of seven Local Authorities that have yet to draw down any funds for Traveller-specific accommodation.
The Department of Housing has provided €18 million for Traveller-specific accommodation this year, but just €6 million has been drawn down to date.
In a statement to Northern Sound, the Department says its role is to ensure "there are adequate structures and supports in place to assist the authorities in providing" traveller-specific accommodation.
Accommodation for Travellers is provided across a range of options, which are financed from the Department's capital allocations for social housing and Traveller-specific accommodation.
To date, Cavan County Council is one of seven Local Authorities that have not obtained any of this funding.
Meanwhile, Monaghan County Council has drawn down funding of just over €196,000.
Despite the failure of seven Local Authorities to obtain any funding, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Peter Burke, says he is "confident the capital allocation is on course for full draw down, in line with the full drawdown of the allocation in 2020 and 2021".
