Cavan County Council has refused planning permission for an application that would have seen the construction of 19 homes in the county.
A planning application had been lodged with the Local Authority to develop 19, two-storey dwellings on a site on Corporation Lands in Belturbet.
The properties would have been a mix of semi-detached, detached, and terraced dwellings.
However, the County Council deemed the proposed development to be of a "substandard form", which would be "contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area".
It added that the proposed works would result in "undue overlooking and loss of privacy" to the existing residential development.
