Cavan County Council hopes to work with other local authorities to tackle
dog fouling.
The issue was again raised at the Council's meeting this week where Councillors called for something to be done.
Kingscourt's Clifford Kelly said he was horrified by the reaction of one dog owner after he challenged them about not picking up their dogs waste.
The meeting heard particular problems are caused for wheelchair users and those with buggies who are often forced to clean wheels, causing hygiene
problems.
Director of Services Paddy Connaughton said he hopes to bring a proposal for an advertising campaign to the Northern and Western Regional Assembly in a
bid to bring other counties on board.
