Cavan County Council is appealing for developers and contractors to come forward with properties for use as social housing.
It says it's received over 1,000 applications for housing support in towns and villages across the county.
Local authorities regularly appeal for homes to be added to their social housing lists but Cavan Council says it's particularly interested in new developments.
It says one, two and three bed houses are those it's in most need of but larger homes will also be considered.
A number of criteria have been set out on the Cavan County Council website and submissions must be made before February 26th.
