A Cavan councillor has welcomed approval of health and safety works to St Mogue's College, Bawnboy.
Sean Smith thanked the CMETB, who made the planning application, with the assistance of the Cavan Road Design Team and local area engineers.
The works will make improvements to the existing entrance, and includes a widening of the entrance, construction of a new public footpath and pedestrian access, a new 'drop-off' area for cars and minibuses, and new staff car parking area.
On Wednesday, the Bawnboy school also received approval for additional accommodation, which will enable the provision of seven classrooms, including specialist rooms, in modular accommodation.
