A Cavan Councillor says he was surprised he didn't get support for his motion calling for fair division of Covid-19 vaccines.
Sinn Féin's Paddy McDonald told this week's County Council meeting that many poorer countries are yet to receive any vaccines.
He claimed millions of vaccine doses are left in storage, in some cases in those countries, without any supplies being passed on.
The meeting heard calls that Ireland should vaccinate its population first and then distribute any surplus vaccines.
