Money seized from criminals should be used to fund drug and alcohol
services.
Cavan Councillor Shane P O'Reilly says the money Gardaí or the Criminal
Assets Bureau confiscated from criminals should be ringfenced for the
services.
There are calls from across the political spectrum for the plan to be put in
place by the Government.
Raising the issue at this month's Cavan County Council meeting, the
Independent Councillor said rather than the money going to the central
exchequer, it should be used to help those who have suffered because of
drugs.
