A Cavan councillor is calling on the Minister for Transport and the Minister for Rural and Community Development to allocate more funding to the county under the Local Improvement Scheme.
Cavan County Council currently has 222 LIS applications on hand, with six dating back to 2008.
Fianna Fáil's John Paul Feeley says there is "no end in sight for applicants" given only 20 LIS applications have been completed in the past three years.
The county received an LIS allocation of close to €637,000 in 2018, but the allocation for 2020 dropped to just over €269,000.
Councillor Feeley says Minister Ryan and Minister Humphreys need to ensure a more "significant allocation" is made to county Cavan:
