A Cavan councillor has called on the HSE to act urgently in providing vaccines to patients in small rural practices.
John Paul Feeley says he has been contacted by GPs in small practices who have "yet to receive a single Covid-19 vaccine".
The Fianna Fáil councillor added that "patients in these practices are about four weeks behind the rest of the country".
He says "bureaucracy seems to be stopping these patients accessing vaccines" and that the HSE is operating a delivery chain which is similar to other vaccines, like the flu jab.
Councillor Feeley told Shannonside Northern Sound that this "bureaucratic nonsense" is leading to delays in delivering vaccines to small practices, and urgent action is needed in the "very short term":
