A Cavan Councillor has called for the Work Life Balance Bill to be redrafted to include female terms in maternity protections.
Aontu Councillor Sarah O'Reilly put forward the motion at the most recent meeting of Cavan County Council.
The Bailieborough representative said that she'd been contacted by constituents and stopped on the street by people who were concerned about the wording of new laws on maternity leave.
Councillor O'Reilly told The Wider View that she felt she had to raise the matter.
