A local councillor is calling for an overall Government strategy to save post offices.
Independent councillor in Cavan Brendan Fay says that closures are inevitable if more services are not directed through local post offices allowing them to generate more revenue.
He says that the post office is a lifeline for people particularly in small communities, and aids the growth of the local economy.
