A Cavan Councillor is calling for a scheme to help levitate the costs associated with trees along the local road network.
Cllr Shane P O'Reilly says it's becoming more annoying with trees along the road falling which was especially evident with Storm Isha last month.
There is currently a scheme in place for people with farms but none for others that may have ash trees on their properties.
Cllr O'Reilly says it's a big expense for people to bear without assistance from the government which will result in more trees falling in future storms.
Over 100 trees fell during the recent storm and the local councillor paid tribute to the crews that worked to get the roads clear in the county.
The local councillor called on the municipal district in Ballyjamesduff to send a letter to Minister Eamon Ryan at the department of transport to call for a scheme to be put in place for domestic applicants.
