Cllr TP O'Reilly received unanimous support for his motion that called on Cavan County Council to forward a letter to the Minister for Education requesting that a Liaison office be put in place to engage with schools and introduce a programme on the use of renewable energy, at a recent meeting of the local authority.
Cllr O'Reilly told those gathered that young people need to be educated around renewable energies and how they can be used. He says the idea is something that members should take to Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board.
Cllr Carmel Brady then highlighted how a comprehensive report on education was carried out by the ETB at all schools in the county, in recent months. She added that it is currently being analysed and a decision is expected shortly.
