The Cavan centre for people living with Dementia will reopen in the New Year, Northern Sound can confirm.
The news was announced earlier today by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
It was also announced that over 38 of their Daycare centres have been reopened, repurposed, and refitted to support People Living with Dementia.
In addition to this, there is currently a plan to build a new centre in Kildare, and centres will reopen in Galway, Westmeath, in the coming weeks.
In a statement to Northern Sound, Siobhan O’Connor who is the ASI Head of Operations, said the investment into reopening Dementia Daycare Services has allowed them to transform the experience of People living with Dementia and their families.
She added that the funding has also allowed them to create welcoming spaces, outdoor gardens, the expansion of daily activities while providing extra training for staff to deliver all the services and programmes in a safe environment.
