A Cavan care home has received approval for funding to create additional living space and decrease noise.
It's after a HIQA inspection ruled that excessive noise levels impacted on the quality time residents could spend with family.
The short-notice announced inspection of Corlurgan Community Home was carried out in April.
Inspectors said that overall, residents appeared happy and staff were observed to be attentive to their needs.
The centre was compliant or substantially compliant in all but one regulation.
The health watchdog ruled that it wasn't compliant in "Residents' rights" because of noise levels at the time of the inspection, which wasn't addressed in a timely or adequate manner.
One family representative told inspectors that they had a concern about this issue as it impacted their right to privacy and in spending quality time with their relatives during visits.
A number of actions were committed to, in an effort to address this, with senior management being approved funding to create additional relaxation space that would reduce noise.
Works on that are expected to be completed next month.
The Person in Charge also said plans are in place for a private space for each resident when they have a visitor.
