A Co Cavan care home has been found to be compliant or substantially compliant in all areas following an unannounced HIQA inspection.
Esker Lodge Nursing Home, on Cathedral Road in Cavan, provides twenty-four hour nursing care to 70 residents with both long and short-term needs.
The unannounced inspection took place in the 18th of November last.
Inspectors said there was a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the centre and the majority of residents spoken with were content and relaxed in the centre.
Most of the residents also told inspectors that the staff were kind and supportive.
The centre was "substantially compliant" in nine areas, which means the provider has generally met the requirements, but some action is required to be fully compliant.
However, the risk rating in these areas was "yellow", which signifies a low risk, and a compliance plan for these areas has since been put in place.
