Laboratories, classrooms, toilets, and a new smoke vent above the existing stairs were also included in the application

A Cavan based business has been refused permission for a new development on its premises.

Ellab Ireland, based in Virginia, applied to Cavan County Council to convert the ground floor warehouse to an educational academy. The business, which specialises in calibration, validation, and monitoring for pharmaceutical and biotech firms, is located in the former James Elliot Construction Building in White Gate Cross. Laboratories, classrooms, toilets, and a new smoke vent above the existing stairs were also included in the application. The current roller shutters on the front facade were also set to be replaced with new windows.

Permission was refused under 2 conditions, including that the application didn't adequately show how it wouldn't have a detrimental impact on the nearby national road network
