The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has ordered the closure of a Cavan pizzeria.
'Fredis Pizzeria' located on Market Square in Bailieborough was one of three closure orders served on food businesses last month.
The FSAI issued the closure because of the lack of control to prevent or reduce food safety hazards to an acceptable level.
Adequate procedures were also not in place to control pests having access to the premises.
At the time of the inspection, the level of "poor hygiene" recorded provided "ideal conditions" for an infestation.
Doors were also left open allowing access for both rodents and flies.
Elsewhere, issues were found in relation to food being defrosted unsafely, and a lack of hot water for cleaning.
Food debris and grease was also found to be embedded on all equipment and surfaces including the floors and walls.
The authority is highlighting it has identified repeat offenders, which is a cause for concern, and says food businesses need to learn from their mistakes.
