Cavan is receiving high praise today after it regained its top position among the cleanest towns in Ireland.
It emerged in third place out of 40 towns and cities across the country in the latest IBAL litter League.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Conor Horgan of IBAL explained how Cavan was "to the fore" when it came to the cleanest towns back in the noughties.
That was when the litter league first started out, but it fell down the rankings as the years went by and struggled to retain its top position.
This time round, judges found the town to be spotlessly clean.
Mr Horgan highlighted how it had "no bad sites" at all.
"The An Taisce report quotes a return to 'the heady days of old' for Cavan," he continued.
"And, it is the case that when we set out on this journey in the early noughties, Cavan was to the fore more than any other town.
"It's back in third position now which is its highest position in many years.
"And, what is very commendable is that it had no bad sites and that really is the big differentiator."
