A Cavan based firm is behind the new Cystic Fibrosis In-Patient Unit at Beaumont Hospital.
In a significant milestone for healthcare in Ireland, the official commencement of the new unit took place onsite at Beaumont Hospital last week.
Leading Cavan-based main contractor, Elliott Group, began works on the site earlier this year, marking the beginning of a much-anticipated project that promises to greatly enhance the quality of care for Cystic Fibrosis patients. The event was attended by representatives from Beaumont Hospital, Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, and local former charity CF Hopesource, alongside members of the construction and design team.
The 20-bed inpatient facility is expected to be completed by October 2025. David Sweeney, Interim CEO of Beaumont Hospital, welcomed the commencement of construction, saying this was a truly exciting time as we reach this significant milestone for the new Cystic Fibrosis in-patient facility. He added that as part of a broader vision for Beaumont Hospital, we are looking forward to realisation of this project in the context of future capital development initiatives.
