A Co. Cavan based cattle procurement officer has been shortlisted for a prestigious meat industry award.

The Ballyjamesduff native has worked at Liffey Meats for over 12 years and has established herself as a key figure within the business, as well as having a massive influence on all its 500 plus staff members.
Maggie works directly with almost 10,000 farmer suppliers throughout the year and is one of their first points of contact when booking in or delivering their livestock to Liffey Meats.
Her local employer said Maggie is a fantastic role model to all the new recruits we employ from general operatives to graduates out of college. She offers them great guidance and support, and is a prime example of how to succeed and prosper within the agri-food sector."
