Speaking to Northern Sound, Callum said he was "delighted" with the win and has encouraged other young apprentices from across the region to get involved.

"There was altogether competing and a strong contingent from both Cavan and Monaghan," he explained. "There was a big ceremony and they announce the winner trade by trade. I wasn't expecting it. It was a close competition because everybody was so good and it was very hard to tell, I was just happy enough to be there competing and then I was delighted to actually win."
