Longford was the only county in the country to record an increase in new car sales in January.
Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show all other counties saw a drop, when compared with the same month last year.
Locally, Cavan saw the biggest drop. It was down 15 per cent on January 2020, with Leitrim and Roscommon seeing around 12 per cent fewer cars sold.
Monaghan recorded a drop of nine percent.
However, Longford was the only county in the country to see an increase. It was up almost seven per cent on last year.
