Cavan and Monaghan are among the cleanest towns in the country after securing seventh and eight place respectively in the latest IBAL ranking of 40 towns and cities nationwide.
The report noted that three previously littered sites in Cavan town were being addressed while the approach roads to Monaghan town were "very good".
Meanwhile, Naas has retained its crown at the top of the IBAL Anti-litter League. Kilkenny and Maynooth took second and third place while Mahon in Cork was voted the most untidy of 40 surveyed.
Waterford was deemed the tidiest City just ahead of Galway. Conor Horgan of Irish Business Against Litter says Naas has set a high standard for others to reach.
"Naas has achieved a consistency now that should serve as a model for others because Naas wasn't always so clean. We hope that the results achieved this morning will be replicated in the years to come," he added.
