This week, the Department of Social Protection issued payments valued at €27.5 million to 106,245 people in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment a fall of 4,525 compared to last week.
Local Minister Heather Humphreys says that today's figures mean that the number of people in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment has now fallen for 33 consecutive weeks.
While there were drops right across the counties in the Shannonside Northern Sound Region Cavan and Monaghan followed by Roscommon still have over 1,000 people receiving the payment.
In Cavan there are the highest number of people locally still in receipt of the payment at 1,388 a reduction of 50 from last week.
Monaghan follows with a drop of 45 to 1,314 with Roscommon also recording a figure over 1,000 at 1,035.
Longford has 724 people on the PUP this week down from 764 last week.
Finally Leitrim is recording the lowest figures in the country at 595 and reduction of 19.
The greatest reduction this week is in the Accommodation and Food Services sector.
