Drivers are urged to slow down this morning after heavy rainfall in places overnight.
A status orange rain warning remains in place for Cork and Kerry until midday - with a yellow alert also in effect for Waterford and Galway.
Met Éireann forecaster Michelle Dillon says the weather will continue to improve across the morning before the orange alert expires at midday: "So, really it's the combination of the rain we've had already and those high spring tides and offshore winds is the reason we have the orange rainfall warning," Ms Dillon said, "Rainfall amounts in themselves wouldn't exactly warrant it but, because of what's already fallen, river levels are high and we have those high spring tides."
