Councillors Cathy Bennett and PJ O'Hanlon have been re-elected to Monaghan County Council on the first count.
The Sinn Féin candidate received 1232 votes, exceeding the 1229 quota by three votes.
Whereas, the valid poll for the Monaghan MD was 9,830 with 143 invalid ballots.
Meanwhile in the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney area, Fianna Fáil's PJ O'Hanlon was elected on the first count exceeding the 1,423 quota by receiving 1,478 votes.
