Catholics in Ireland are living in the closet and are afraid to admits socially that they are going to Mass.
That's according to Aontú leader and Meath West TD, Peadar Tóibín.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show, Deputy Peadar Tóibín said that in recent times, constituents have come to him in relation to a "cold wind" which they have received when they discussed going to Mass in a social setting.
The Meath-West TD also referred to the spate of physical attacks which have taken place on churches across the country in recent times.
He described the vandalism of church spaces as "low-level" adding that actions of this kind must be "called out."
