The Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council has urged the Monaghan public to re-double its efforts in the fight against Covid-19.
The three local electoral areas in Monaghan are among the six highest in the country for Covid-19 incidence rates.
The Carrickmacross-Castleblayney LEA had the worst 14-day rate between January 19th and February 1st.
Cathaoirleach Colm Carthy says while he appreciates how difficult the current restrictions are, we "need to stay the course over the next few months."
He's warned that higher rates of infection within the county could lead to local businesses and schools staying closed for longer:
