A Castleblayney woman is encouraging people to "Walk While You Can" to raise funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Cathy Evans' father died of MND in 1990, aged 58, having fought the disease for four years and she is fundraising in memory of her late father.
The national "Walk While You Can" event took place last Saturday, but Cathy has arranged a local 5 k walk this Sunday, September 19th, which will start at the Iontas Arts Centre in Castleblayney at 2pm.
More than 400 people are affected by MND in Ireland and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association provides specialised services to families affected by the condition.
