Castleblayney Library recently secured second place in the prestigious RIAI Public Choice Award. Now in their 35th year, the RIAI Architecture Awards celebrate excellence in the design and delivery of buildings by Registered Architects. Craftstudio Architecture and Gaffney and Cullivan Architects are behind the wonderful building that is the Hope Castle Gate lodge which is now home to Castleblayney Library. This project involved the conservation and adaption of two gate lodges, framing the entrance to Hope Castle Estate, creating a public library and community spaces, and an extension containing a children’s library.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Ronan Fitzpatrick from Craftstudio Architecture says it was a "great experience" to bring the historic Hope Castle Gate lodge back to life by turning it into one of Ireland's most popular buildings.
