Craftstudio Architecture and Gaffney and Cullivan Architects are behind the wonderful building that is the Hope Castle Gate lodge which is now home to Castleblayney Library. This project involved the conservation and adaption of two gate lodges, framing the entrance to Hope Castle Estate, creating a public library and community spaces, and an extension containing a children’s library.
Ronan Fitzpatrick from Craftstudio Architecture says it has been great to be shortlisted but it would be wonderful to bring the title of Irelands favorite building to Monaghan. Local Councillor Aidan Campbell says it would be wonderful to bring a national title to Castleblayney.
