The Ballinagh native is is the party's candidate for the Ballyjamesduff LEA says that cash is legal tender and will always be king.
The Bill, being brought to Cabinet by the Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath, which will see cash retain its place in society, has been heralded as a win for 'people power and common sense' by the local teacher and Aontu's candidate in the upcoming election in the Balljamesduff Munipical district. Aontú has long campaigned against a move toward a cashless society, something Ms McPhillips believes would heavily exclude vast numbers of our population.
She said cash is the most inclusive way to pay for goods and services, so ensuring shops and pharmacies must accept it as payment is great news.
The Co Cavan native said It's also important to remember that 350,000 people countrywide do not have bank accounts. The local Aontu representative says this bill ensures cash will also be king.
