The case will be mentioned again on December 6th.

The case against former Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council Sean McKiernan has been further adjourned at Trim Circuit Court following a request from a defence barrister. The former councillor with a address at Virginia Road, Cavan is charged with multiple counts of theft involving a total of €172,130 from the Navan Mental Health Housing Association.

The offences are alleged to have been committed at unknown locations on various dates in 2019. Making the request for an adjournment defence barrister Olan Callanan BL told Judge John Martin the case involved 32 witnesses and 58 counts of alleged theft and he needed more time to take specific instructions. Judge Martin agreed to the request and remanded the accused on bail to the same court on 6th December when the case will be mentioned again.
