It looks like Sinn Féin's Michelle Gildernew cannot, yet, be ruled out of the race for a seat in the Midlands NorthWest constituency. While no-one has been elected yet, Independent Luke Ming Flanagan, Fine Gael's Nina Carberry and Maria Walsh and Fianna Fáil's Barry Cowen all look certain to take the first four seats. Independent Ireland candidate, Ciarán Mullooly is in pole position to take the fifth and final seat and is currently 12,576 votes clear of Michelle Gildernew after the eleventh count. However, she's expected to close the gap when her party colleague Chris McManus is eliminated later today. The 12th count is underway in Castlebar right now and Ming Flanagan believes there is a 20 per cent chance Gildernew will take the fifth and final seat:
