Matt Carthy has clashed with the Agriculture Minister during questions on the Common Agriculture Policy.
Minister Charlie McConalogue and Minister of State Martin Heydon addressed TDs yesterday on current progress with negotiations and to take questions on the government's position.
Sinn Fein's Agriculture spokesperson described their opening remarks as "pure rhetoric" and sought answers on a number of points, including limits to Pillar 1 payments and Oireachtas approval of the CAP strategic plan.
On the issue of convergence, Deputy Carthy wanted to find the Minister's own stance on what level should be in place.
