Members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit carried out a number of detections over the past few days. While out on patrol yesterday, members of the Cavan Roads Policing Unit were notified by the automatic number plate recognition alerts. As a result of the alert, two separate cars were stopped. Both alerts were for no insurance. According to local Gardaí, checks on the new Insurance App showed no insurance on both vehicles. Both cars were detained under section 41 RTA and both drivers will face court appearances.
Elsewhere, on Sunday evening, following local complaints of speeding in the town. Cavan RPU made a number of detections in Arva in the 50km speed limit. As a result, fixed penalty notices were issued to all drivers detected exceeding the speed limit. Gardaí in Co Cavan are advising motorists to slow down.
