Carrickmacross property sealed off following extensive fire damage

A property in Carrickmacross remains sealed off this afternoon following extensive fire damage to a terraced house close to the town centre.

A man has been arrested following the incident of criminal damage that occurred in Bridge Street in the town. In a statement issued to Northern Sound, Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage by fire that occurred at approximately 5:15am this morning.

The incident took place at a property located on the Kingscourt Rd in Carrickmacross. One man aged in his 40s has been arrested in connection with this incident.

Investigations are ongoing at this time, while forensic investigators have arrived at the scene.
