A Carrickmacross councillor says it great that a unit in the Market House will be used for the purpose it was put in place for.
Michelle Kettle, an artist from Dublin, is set to lease the Craft Studio for a 12 month period.
Colm Carthy told a recent County Council meeting that "great things will come from this" and will "put Carrickmacross on the map when it comes to the quality of art".
He added that he looks forward to seeing the Craft Studio "up and active".
Meanwhile, PJ O'Hanlon called on the council to support Michelle "in whatever way it can" and warned that "taxpayers money cannot be spent on buildings that are then left lying idle".
