Kerry Group has announced the sale of its Consumer Foods' Meats and Meals business to Pilgrim's Pride Corporation in a deal worth €819 million.
4,500 people are employed across the Meats and Meals business, including 450 people at its large plant in Carrickmacross.
A Kerry Group spokesperson confirmed to Northern Sound that all staff at the Kerry Foods' Carrickmacross plant will transfer over to Pilgrim's Pride as part of the transaction.
Around 250 people are employed at a plant in Enniskillen, and they will also transfer over to Pilgrim's Pride.
The CEO of Pilgrim's Pride, Fabio Sandri, said he looks forward to welcoming team members from Kerry's Meats and Meals business.
Kerry Group's CEO, Edmond Scanlon, says the "transaction further enhances Kerry's focus as a leading business to business ingredient solutions provider for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical markets".
