The Carrickmacross district has seen an increase in drunk driving offences between July and September this year.
Over the same period last year there were 17 cases in the area, which has risen to 24 this year.
The Monaghan district noted a slight decrease year on year of 17 to 14, however, Acting Chief Superintendent Aidan Glacken stated at a recent Monaghan JPC meeting it was still high across the county.
He says drug driving is also still prevalent in the county with 5 cases in Monaghan and 8 in Carrickmacross during quarter 3, something he says is reflective of what is happening social with drug taking in communities.
