A Carrickmacross dentist has won the Colgate Caring Dentist of the Year award for Connacht-Ulster.
The annual awards recognise dentists that have provided dental treatment and care over and above expectations.
Dr Bernadette Fee, of Fee Dental on Church Street in Carrickmacross, was nominated by a woman who, while out cycling with her son, came off her bike headfirst.
Despite it being late on a Friday night, and not being a patient of the practice, the woman contacted Dr Fee - who said she would see her at the surgery immediately.
The woman said the level of kindness and care she received from Dr Fee was outstanding, describing the dentist as her "fairy godmother".
Meanwhile, Cavan dentist Dr Fionn Murphy, of Colm Smith Dental in Cootehill, was presented with a Special Recognition Award for the care he showed to a patient with special needs that significantly improved his quality of life
