Carrick Emmets based in Co Monaghan are delighted to be returning to normal with their 41st Christmas Day Swim following a break due to Covid.
Over the last forty one years, the annual swim has helped hundreds of charities and people in need of help in the locality and raised well over a million euros.
Speaking to Northern Sound, swim co-ordinator Jimmy Finnegan says as a GAA club, the swim is something they have done to give back to the local community over the last 41 years.
Jimmy also revealed that he has been involved with the swim, which takes place at Creevy Lough today at 12.30pm ever since it started, back in 1980.
Jimmy has encouraged as many people as possible to get involved across the Northern Sound region.
He added that the swim which is open to all is still as popular as ever and that people of all ages will be delighted to see it back.
