Person-centred, patient, and kind is how the staff of one Cavan disability centre are being described.
The Health Information and Quality Authority carried out an inspection of Corlurgan Community Home located near Cavan Town in April of this year
This service comprises of a large detached house in Co.Cavan with an additional en-suite one-bedroom apartment in the basement of the property and at the time of this inspection, there were four residents living in the centre.
The house is staffed 24/7 and provides care to four adults with disabilities. On arrival to the centre the inspector observed that the house was clean, warm and welcoming. There was a private garden/driveway area to the front of the property and a large private courtyard/garden area to the rear. The gardens were well maintained and provided a tranquil space for residents to enjoy in times of good weather. Residents described the home as warm and welcoming, and family members of residents described the care as excellent.
17 areas were inspected on the day and the centre was found to be compliant in all areas.
