The funeral of much loved and forever remembered Caolan Finnegan will take place later this morning. The Crossmaglen rangers football player passed away on Friday, a year after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
The 20 year old played for his club as recently as last year and Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney said after the All-Ireland victory that he would have almost certainly been part of the winning squad but for his illness. Caolan has been described "as a true warrior through his biggest fight of all".
His remains will be leaving his home at 10:15 this morning to St Patrick's Church, Crossmaglen (via the Rangers Field) arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Caolan's family would appreciate it if everyone could wear their Club, County or College colours when attending the Wake or Funeral. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
