The PSNI in Armagh have seized around 400 cannabis plants from a property. Officers conducting enquiries in the Main Street area of Markethll carried out a search of a house in recent days after it came to their attention.
Inside, they found a suspected cannabis factory with a large number of plants and equipment believed to be used for the cultivation of the drug. Two men aged 32 and 34 were arrested and are being held in custody on suspicion of cultivating cannabis; possession of class B controlled drugs with intent to supply; possession of class B controlled drugs; and the theft of electricity.
The PSNI added that the seizure has resulted in the removal of an estimated £200,000 worth of drugs from local streets. “Our officers are committed to tackling the scourge of illicit drugs, and will continue to investigate those who profit from the misery and harm they cause our community,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
