The Canadian Ambassador to Ireland has made her way to County Monaghan today.
Appointed to the role by Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, in March 2021, Nancy Smyth hopes to "strengthen" the already strong relations between Canada and Ireland.
Kick-starting her official duties this morning as guest of honour, Ambassador Smyth paid a visit to Castle Leslie before attending a reception in the Market House in Monaghan Town.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Ambassador Smyth who will visit all three of the county's Municipal District areas, said it was "great" to be in Monaghan today.
